On the advice of the municipality, we have unfortunately had to decide that children will no longer have free entry this year.

This is part of a policy to discourage children from being on the premises, due to the use of alcohol and cannabis.

Therefore, children also need a valid admission ticket this year.

Are you bringing your child? Then you can get a white wristband at the entrance. You can write your phone number on it and put it on your child’s wrist. This way, we can always reach you should your child unexpectedly get lost.

CELEBRATE SAFE

Planning is treating yourself. For some, anticipation is just as important as the moment itself. Which party are you going to and with whom? What will you wear? How will you get there? You can also consider whether you want to use alcohol or other drugs. And check with your friends what they are planning. That way, you know what to do if something goes wrong.

Be kind to yourself and the people around you. If everyone looks out for each other a little, everyone will have a good time. Do you see that someone isn’t feeling okay? Just wait a moment until someone from the crew or first aid arrives. If you agree on a meeting point at the party, you can find each other if your phone stops working.

Better safe than sorry. Celebrate safe!

There are always risks associated with the use of alcohol and other drugs. Whether you are doing it for the first time or have done it before makes little difference. Every substance has a different effect. Its impact depends on what you take, where you take it, how much you take, and how your body reacts to it.

Do you still want to use something? Research information in advance and do not believe everything you hear or read. Have your drugs tested before use.

And, do not forget that hard drugs are still illegal. You will not receive a fine in the Netherlands for using hard drugs. However, most parties and clubs have a zero-tolerance policy. You are not allowed to use or possess drugs there. House rules regarding cannabis may vary: Check the party or venue’s website beforehand.

New Alcohol Law

Since July 1, 2021, there has been a new alcohol law. Alcohol was already not allowed to be sold to visitors under the age of 18. But if you are under 18, you can now also receive a fine yourself if you buy alcohol, possess it, or accept it from someone else. Furthermore, someone over the age of 18 who buys alcohol for a minor is now also punishable.

For more information about alcohol use, other recreational drugs, and partying more consciously, check Unity.nl or follow Unity on Facebook and Instagram.

A party without music is like flat cola. And because you naturally want to enjoy your favorite music for as long as possible, it is wise to be kind to your ears. Three tips:

1. Listen as safely as possible; find the best spot to enjoy the music while still keeping enough distance from the speakers. Standing too close can be harmful to your ears.

2. Wear those earplugs! At sound pressure levels higher than 80 dB, it is wise to use earplugs. This way, you can still hear the music well, communicate more easily with your friends, and protect your hearing.

3. Give your ears a rest every now and then. Find a quiet spot every now and then to give your ears a ‘break’. This allows them to recover, ultimately enabling you to enjoy your favorite music for longer.

For more information, check http://ilovemyears.nl/

Even if you seem to have endless energy, it is smart to take a break every now and then. Stop dancing and go to a quiet spot to chill, have a drink, or eat. Even if you are feeling good, such a break is a good idea. Because sometimes you only realize how hot or tired you are afterwards. Find a cool spot in the club or in the shade of a festival tent. Is it winter? Don’t go outside, but find a spot inside.

What is the start of a fun flirt for one person might be just a step too far for another. Harassing someone is, of course, never okay! Do you suspect someone is being harassed? Check if they are okay or alert security.

No means no. Respect each other’s boundaries. Do not try to persuade others to do something they do not want to do. Doubting whether the other person is still having fun? Ask them or stop what you are doing. And you don’t have to let yourself be persuaded to do something you don’t want to do either. Stay true to yourself and listen to your gut feeling.

Whether it concerns the use of alcohol or other drugs, a flirt, or going home at a specific time: celebrate life, but with respect for each other’s boundaries.

Besides dancing, partying is also about having fun flirting and making out. But avoid regrets later. State what you want. Does the other person want something you’re not interested in? Maybe you’re not such a good match after all. You don’t have to let yourself be talked into it, and you can always change your mind!

Everyone has a different boundary regarding what behavior they consider desirable or undesirable. Is one person fine with being kissed by a stranger? Another might not be looking forward to that at all. It is not always so clear where that boundary lies. So, just check if the other person likes it as much as you do with the simple question: Are you okay?

And should it come to that: use condoms. They protect you against STDs, HIV, and unwanted pregnancies.

The party or club crew is there for your safety and that of others. So, if you are being harassed, if there is an argument, if you feel unwell, or if you see that someone else is not doing well, please alert security or a member of the organization. They can call first aid, speak to a troublesome visitor, or remove them. If you feel unwell, you can of course also go to first aid yourself. Even though security can sometimes be strict and even though a crew member might seem very busy, they are there to help you if necessary.

Are you feeling unwell, or are you unsure if you are okay? Or is one of your friends not doing well? Go to the First Aid station. They will help you.

You can always go to the First Aid station. For a plaster because you have a blister or for paracetamol. They will also help you if you feel unwell after using alcohol or other drugs.

What happens in the First Aid station stays in the First Aid station. Everything you discuss or do there is confidential. So you can tell the First Aid crew what you have drunk or taken. That way, they can help you better.

If you cannot get to the First Aid station yourself, ask security or the crew to call them. Do you see that someone else is feeling unwell? Do not leave them alone and wait until help arrives.

Before you go to a party or festival, it is smart to think about how you will get home safely. Are you taking a taxi? Is there a designated driver? Are you taking the shuttle bus? Check with your friends what they are planning.

If you have consumed alcohol or other drugs, you might think you are fit enough to drive, but you are not. You often don’t feel it, but under the influence, you really react much slower than when you are sober. Fatigue is also a problem.

Energy drinks, coffee, and other stimulants won’t help you get sober and fit again. So… have someone drive you home, whether that is by taxi, car, bus, tram, or train. Are you going by car? Then agree in advance who the designated driver is. Only get in if your driver is sober and let your designated driver stay focused. So, hands above the seatbelts.

No matter how fun partying is, at some point your battery simply runs out and your body needs rest. Sleeping feels great and is necessary for recovery. Take the time to unwind.

Take good care of yourself the day after. Treat yourself to a nice breakfast, some snacks, and time to chill. Give yourself time to recharge. That way, you’ll be ready for the next weekend sooner.
